What the update brings

Cryptoway has released an updated version of Cryptoway Payments, a plugin that enables WooCommerce stores to accept cryptocurrency payments.

Version 1.1.0 is now available in the official WordPress plugin directory. It allows a business to add cryptocurrency alongside its existing payment methods without rebuilding the current checkout flow or developing a separate crypto payment solution.

Cryptocurrency within the existing order flow

At checkout, the customer selects Cryptoway. On the Cryptoway payment page, they then choose an available cryptocurrency and network and pay from a compatible wallet.

Product prices can remain in the store’s usual currency, such as US dollars or euros. When the customer proceeds to payment, the page shows the amount due in the selected cryptocurrency.

Once payment is made, the payment data is sent to WooCommerce and linked to the relevant order. The store owner or team does not have to search for a wallet transfer and determine manually which order it belongs to.

What the customer sees

Payment takes place on a Cryptoway page that can be adapted to the store’s visual identity.

A business can add its logo, choose an accent colour, and use a light or dark theme. This helps the payment page remain part of the overall customer experience rather than appear as an unrelated service.

The customer sees the amount, selected cryptocurrency and network, transfer details, and the time available to complete the payment.

What happens to the order after payment

When a payment is received, the store gets its current status and the data is saved in the corresponding WooCommerce order.

The order displays the payment status, the invoiced and received cryptocurrency amounts, the selected asset, the transaction hash, and the payment deadline.

If the customer sends an insufficient amount or the payment arrives after the deadline, the order moves to On hold and requires review by a store employee.

This is particularly useful when several people work with orders and payments: the information needed to understand the transaction remains inside the order record.

Version 1.1.0 also adds statistics for a selected period and CSV export for further analysis.

Which cryptocurrencies can be accepted

Cryptoway Payments supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, TRX, BNB, Litecoin, POL, and GRAM.

USDT is available on Tron, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, and The Open Network. Ethereum can be accepted on Ethereum and Arbitrum.

The customer chooses an available cryptocurrency and network on the Cryptoway payment page. There is no separate per-coin configuration in WooCommerce.

Who Cryptoway Payments is for

The plugin is primarily intended for businesses that already use WooCommerce and want to add cryptocurrency as another payment method.

For example, a store can continue displaying a product price in US dollars while allowing the customer to pay the corresponding amount in USDT or another available cryptocurrency.

For the business, cryptocurrency becomes another payment option inside an existing store rather than a separate operational process.

No need to build everything from scratch

A company developing cryptocurrency payments independently would need to create payment requests, verify received funds, track payment states, and connect each transaction to the correct order.

Cryptoway Payments provides a ready-made way to add these capabilities to WooCommerce.

An API integration may be more suitable for companies with a non-standard sales system or complex payment requirements. The plugin is primarily designed for businesses that need a ready-to-use option for a standard WooCommerce store.

How to install the plugin

Cryptoway Payments is available in the official WordPress plugin directory.

In the WordPress dashboard, open Plugins → Add New Plugin, search for Cryptoway Payments, and install and activate it.

In the WooCommerce payments section, enter the Project ID and Secret key of the Cryptoway project. The plugin fetches the callback key automatically.

The WordPress.org listing and plugin package for version 1.1.0 specify these minimum requirements: WordPress 6.5 or later, WooCommerce 9.0 or later, and PHP 8.1 or later.

Cryptoway Payments is available now

The updated Cryptoway Payments plugin helps businesses add cryptocurrency to an existing WooCommerce store without rebuilding the catalogue or order process. Customers receive an additional way to pay, while the store team continues managing orders in the familiar WooCommerce interface.

The plugin links each payment to its order, checks the amount received, and updates the order status. Cryptocurrency therefore becomes another payment method within the business’s existing infrastructure rather than a separate process around the store.
